When I started studying Catholic theology many years ago, the seven deadly sins were of particular interest to me. Saint Jerome, Tertullian, Saint Basil the Great, Saint Cyprian of Carthage and even Martin Luther all say that some sins are worse than others. 1 John c. 5:16-17, John 19:11-12, Hebrews 10:26-29, 2 Peter 2:20-22 do the same.
In Catholic theology, the seven deadly sins are: pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, anger and laziness. But what if these greater sins are politically weaponized to hurt and even kill vulnerable people outside the womb for political purposes, like here in Texas. I’m going to recap Trump’s character from another article I posted.
“Christ represented the truth; Trump has told thousands of lies. This was easily proven by anyone who tested his words. Christ and our constitution say we are all created equal; Trump hissed at white supremacists and told the Proud Boys to “stand back and stay away.” Christ represented faithfulness; Trump has had multiple affairs, multiple wives, and cheated on a porn star while his wife was pregnant with their child. Christ represents the poor; Trump pushed through a massive transfer of wealth from the middle class and working poor to his wealthy donors. Christ speaks of kindness to your neighbour; Trump’s rise has been marked by harassment and intimidation. Christ says leaders are to be servants of all; Trump demanded absolute loyalty and did everything possible to destroy anyone who would not bow to him. Christ speaks of purity as Pope Francis apologizes for impurity in the Church; Trump bragged that he could catch women by the p#[email protected]% and had over 20 wives who all testified (2 Cor. 13:1) that he had sexually assaulted them. As a direct result of the election of the man we have chosen, who many Christians have also claimed was “God’s chosen” (Isaiah 5:20), America has experienced a massive toll of over a million deaths, more than half of which were entirely unnecessary. . –Woodman and Nichols
And then we have the atrocities committed by hard-right Texas politicians, including Governor Greg Abbott, summarized from the Mothers Against Greg Abbott video.
1. Failed to fully keep our Texas ERCOT Powergrid alive and well maintained resulting in hazards and even many fatalities
2. Removal of some key racial history curricula from Texas classrooms and banning of various books, including books by Black and LBGTQ authors
3. It’s been legal to buy a gun without a license and carry it openly
4. Place a $10,000 bounty on anyone who helps a woman get an abortion, essentially criminalizing abortion
5. Currently legislating against kind and loving parents of transgender children and their transgender children while fighting against mainstream science and their children’s doctors
6. Fighting mask and vaccine mandates during the worst pandemic in over 100 years, resulting in nearly 90,000 deaths, or almost 10% of the total number of COVID deaths in the United States
ten For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, greedy for money, have strayed from the faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows. –I Timothy 6:10
Nothing in Texas strikes me as greedy, lazier, and gluttonous than the far-right Texas politicians who jumped on the Trump bandwagon. Texas power corporations gave Gov. Greg Abbott millions of dollars during his three conservative terms, according to the Lincoln Project, but he failed to invest in the common good of all Texans he served. he was chosen to serve and protect.
Please watch this video from the Lincoln Project. One of our children who is vulnerable could have easily died if I hadn’t been on his college campus during the winter storm.
Either far-right Texas politicians hate and want to control women, or they want to save unborn babies to the point of harming mothers. I shared this latest video on my MAGA Texas blog. If it was about unborn babies, it would be true in the meme.
We all know of Trump’s connections to multiple affairs, multiple wives, and cheating with a porn star while his wife was pregnant with their child. Greg Abbott has a history of being a faithfully married family man, which I credit to him. However, attempting to take away women’s bodily autonomy in cases of rape or bugging is impermissible, which is done in Texas and the other states listed in this article.

Bowing to a minority of voters to trample the vote and civil rights of the majority while trying to win an election at all costs by any unethical means possible are fascist traits. Rep. Jamie Raskin sums it up nicely in his closing remarks.
