Dr. Robert Jeffress: Targeting Religious Freedom – Why No Faith Is Safe Under the Biden Administration

[ad_1]

There is an ongoing case in the legal system that is currently focusing on the religious exemption of the Ministry of Education in Title IX.

A group of LGBTQ students are suing the federal government, arguing that the religious schools they attended discriminated against them. They want to reverse the religious exemption, which would mean religious colleges and universities across the country could not receive federal funds or federally guaranteed student loans.

After the complaint was filed, three Christian schools sought to defend the religious exemption that allowed religious schools to maintain their sexuality and gender policies that respect the traditional teachings of Judaism, Islam and Christianity.

Then the Biden administration made what everyone thought was an odd move. She intervened in the lawsuit on behalf of Christian schools. Not only did he intervene, but the Justice Department’s case went too far in its alleged defense of Christian schools and religious exemption.

SUPREME COURT SURPRISE: JUSTICES BREAK IDEOLOGICAL LINES IN KEY OBAMACARE AND RELIGIOUS FREEDOM DECISIONS

Biden’s DOJ pledged to “vigorously” defend the interests of religious freedom and claimed to seek the same “ultimate goal” as schools. Needless to say, LGBTQ advocates felt disoriented and betrayed. Had the Biden administration suddenly changed its mind?

It didn’t take long for the DOJ to resume the program. The Biden administration has changed its court record. He still wants to “defend” Christian schools, but the word “vigorously” has been deleted, along with the expression “ultimate goal”.

Guess the Biden administration has gone weak and aimless again now? This raises the obvious question: can we really trust the Biden DOJ to defend religious freedom?

From literally day one of his presidency, Joe Biden has done everything possible to end so-called “discrimination” by aggressively attacking any religious business, school or university that adheres to a traditional gender view. and sexuality.

Biden also advocated for passage of the Equality Act, which would ensure that allegations of discrimination by LGBTQ advocates trump existing federal laws that protect believers and religious organizations.

Biden’s position is clear: the precepts of religious conscience dare not stay where federal money goes. Its political program is to impose a radical ideology on thousands of Christian institutions across America. Biden’s falsehood on the religious exemption case was just a devious way to prevent religious freedom from being “vigorously” defended.

Biden’s cynical turn contrasts with a bright spot, the Fulton ruling the Supreme Court just handed down last week. In a unanimous decision, the court held that the city of Philadelphia violated the free exercise of religion by attempting to deny Catholic social services the right to administer foster care and adoption in accordance with its religious faith. . The city of Philadelphia has aggressively tried to stop faith-based organizations from doing good works that help thousands of children in need of homes. The Supreme Court put a decisive end to it.

We have a new form of government in this country. Progressives in the executive are trying to impose LGBTQ orthodoxy. The Supreme Court is trying to slow them down. And Congress is doing nothing.

We’ll see whether Biden has an interest in following the Constitution and protecting the free exercise of faith – what some have called our “first freedom” – or whether the Court will have to continue to overturn these blatant First Amendment violations.
