The primary responsibility for educating children lies with the family. Schools, teachers, and tutors exist only as a tool to aid the parents in achieving the goals of both spiritual and academic instruction. Therefore, both parents must agree to send their children to ECA, and at least one parent must regularly attend a Bible-believing church. Christian schools do not exist merely as an alternative to public schools, but they exist primarily to aid Christian parents in providing academic instruction from a Christian worldview. For a Christian school to be truly effective, a solid Biblical foundation must be laid at home and in the church.
The first duty of the Christian school is to teach and model the truths of the Bible. This duty will be pursued in every aspect of the school day and in the spiritual, social, and academic instruction.
Christian character is the only solid foundation for academic excellence, and the cornerstone for that foundation is an obedient spirit. ECA's policies, rules, and discipline procedures reflect this mindset. It serves to facilitate the smooth functioning of the school as well as character development of the students. We trust that the parents will join with us in the enforcement of these policies.
The end of all Christian scholarship, on any level, is service. Christian education instills Christian values to our children and motivates them to strive for academic excellence. Such a pursuit should be done with all of their hearts, in faithful service to God and to our community.
