Over forty years ago, Reverend John Bedzyk had a vision – a vision not simply of young people learning about God and receiving a quality education, but of learning to see the world through God's eyes. It's what we now call a Biblical world view. That vision was birthed when Elmira Christian Academy opened its doors in 1969, meeting in the Sunday School rooms of the church he pastored.
Originally consisting of just first through sixth grades and 35 students, the school began to see growth and eventually added Kindergarten, Middle and High School grades, the newest addition being our Pre-K class. The addition of a gymnasium has provided an excellent facility for sporting events and school concerts.
Today, "Brother John's" vision is still ours as ECA meets the challenges of a new generation, educating young people through the timeless perspective of God's Word. The school is still moving forward, Exalting Christ Academically, providing students with the knowledge and wisdom to be not only successful in today's society, but also the men and women that God has called them to be.
