You are to be working on editing your dozen pictures for ECA's webpage. When you are done, make two or three webpages from the pictures you edited. Use a title at the top or bottom of each page to explain the pictures, or use captions under each picture. Keep backgrounds the same or similar for the pages you create. Link the pages to each other and add a “HOME” link that goes back to the school's home page (http://www.elmirachristianacademy.com). Remember this is for the school, so keep everything professional!

MID-TERM!!!!! Go here to get instructions and everything you need....
November 17, 2008
OK! Time to do your very own web pages. Your theme is "MY WORLD." It's a page by you and about you, so it's a kind of free-form creative project. Start by thinking about who you are and what you like, your activities, friends, school, whatever and begin to imagine what you would put on a webpage about yourself. STYLE can be plain or wild, BUT everything must look good -- no sloppiness, accidental misspellings, skewed pictures, etc.
This will end up being 2 or three pages, so one page can be the main page and the others related -- like one for your favorites hobby and one for your family or something. IDK - U PICK! you can upload clip art, animations, your own pictures, even sound bites and links to other sites. You are only limited by your imagination (and your teacher's grasp of technology)!
You HAVE to use the fonts on the handout sheet -- sorry! But if you want special fonts here and there, we'll work on that later.
November 12, 2008 -- SOCCER WEBPAGE
Here are two team photos for your soccer web
page. Choose one as the center of focus for the web page, other
pictures you have chosen go around it. Use no more than 8 pictures
plus the team shot. Captions are great -- but don't use last names,
only first names. Remember, if you NORMAL CLICK on a file, you will
view the picture (it takes awhile to load), but if you RIGHT-CLICK
on a file, you can choose to download it (which will save time).
October 27, 2008 -- PICTURE EDITING!
Here are some pictures to download. IMPROVE THEM! Try making one or two Black & White (“Grayscale”), sharpen/soften some, and crop as needed (some soccer pictures have SMALL subjects).
October 15, 2008 -- TABLE ASSIGNMENT #2 (Presidents)
Boy, this will look familiar. BUT repetition is key to learning! This is for you to do and it WILL become part of your grade.
OBJECT: At your computer compose a document showing the US Presidents of the 20th century, using the list below. Most (not all) of the information is on the list and most portraits are on the disk you were given, but you will have to supply the rest of the information and pictures. Use black & white through Johnson; starting with Nixon use color.
The web page is to consist of a title followed by a table containing each President's portrait, followed by FULL name, years in office, and political party. Each cell should look uniform—that is, they look the same. Center everything, use correct spelling, capitalization, etc. You do NOT need to lay your table out exactly the same as this sample, but you may. If you wish, you may use a dignified, light background image for your page and save it on your computer. (It can be a simple texture background or perhaps something patriotic.) Get as much done as you can. If you know how to add hyperlinks, you can make “Elmira Christian Academy” a hyperlink to the school website.
Start by making a subfolder called "20th_cen_presidents" and copying all these pictures into it. When you insert the Presidents' pictures, take them from this folder. You will have to add a few Presidetnail pictures of your own - first into that folder, then FROM THE FOLDER insert them into your table. Make all pictures the same size (as best you can), without distorting them!! NO skewing of pictures - anchor all as character, etc. Use what you learned!
Score is based on how much you can do in the allotted time (coupla days), by creativity, accuracy, and having a professional-looking result. Don't be afraid to ask me questions. Best wishes!
