General Meeting

3/7/08

7pm

Meeting called to order by Tim Chamberlain. Glenn Newcomer opened in prayer.

Mark Walker spoke to those in attendance about Jamaica and the orphanage there. He told us about the difference between a government run orphanage and a private orphanage run by Mrs. Michelle Robinette called “Robin’s Nest”. He shared the purpose of the Mission Team going to Jamaica is to give the children in the orphanage opportunities that they don’t usually get. The team will minister with bible stories, swimming and playing with the children. The men will do light construction, painting and lawn work.

Greg Andrews, a Junior, testified that he wants to go to help Mr. Newcomer. He said he knows God will work in his life.

Brianna Harris, a Senior, will be taking her first missions trip. She is excited because she wants to spend her life in mission work. God will work in her life and the life of others by going.

Luke Walker, an 8th grader, told us how God called him to go on this, his 4th trip to Jamaica.

Mark told us Michelle Robinette’s testimony. She grew up on the streets. She never knew her father and her mother was “crazy”. She learned to trust God as her father and Savior. Now she ministers to children (up to 30 at a time) who need to learn this same truth.

There was question and answer time.

Meeting adjourned at 8:20pm

Respectfully submitted,

Della Robinson, Acting Secretary
